Paik Namjune
Media Bridge

by Korea Architectural Design Professor Exhibition, 2011

Even compared to world famous rivers located in the city center, such as the Thames and Seine, the “Han River” has an overwhelming scale.

Despite this symbolism, 'Daero' and about 20 'Daero' that emphasized speed and efficiency for the miracle of the Han River and the high-speed compressed growth over the past 60 years connect Seoul to the east and west, south and north, and the current Han River. It's just taking shape.

There seems to be a limit to showing the original beauty and potential of the Han River. What would it be like to create a cultural icon that transcends time on the Han River, the only one in the world that crosses the city center? It was designed from the question.

The Nam June Paik Media Bridge is planned to be built with the interest and support of Seoul citizens, not a project led by the government and large corporations.

Those who want to participate in the project can participate in the project by accessing the project official website (www.buildyourbridge.org), and when it is actually completed later, they can engrave their name on the bridge or use the ideas of sponsors as media art materials on the LED skin. do.

As it is built with the participation of the public, the progress of the project will be disclosed in real time, and the public interest and response will be continued with a transparent construction procedure.

Nam June Paik Media Bridge, a cultural heritage of the future created by citizens, will be a bridge that symbolizes the present and future of Korea as the center of future tourism content that will enhance the brand value of Korea as well as the image of the Han River.
